Donald Trump's victories on Super Tuesday marked the beginning of the front-runner "bringing the people of our nation together to help America win again," New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said.
"The win is important for our country," Christie said while introducing Trump to supporters in Palm Beach, Fla. "Tonight is the beginning of Donald Trump bringing the Republican Party together for a big victory this November."
For those who backed Trump in 13 states across the country, "our message is to begin to get ready for the fight that is coming this fall," Christie said. "The fight this fall is to make sure that a united Republican Party and united American people make sure that Hillary Rodham Clinton never gets back in the White House."
The governor, who endorsed Trump last week, said that the front-runner has proven to be "tough and strong and bold" since announcing his campaign in June.
"He's shown himself to be a fighter — a leader who speaks plainly to the American people," Christie said. "He has listened to the American people.
"The American people are listening to him. He's bringing the country together.
"That, ladies and gentlemen, is not a campaign — it's a movement."
