Vice President Joe Biden said Friday Donald Trump's praise of Russian President Vladimir Putin has gone too far.

"Some of the things he says put us in a real difficult position in other parts of the world," Biden said, according to Politico.

During the NBC News Commander-in-Chief Forum Wednesday night, Trump applauded Putin's leadership.

"Certainly, in that system, he's been a leader, far more than our president has been a leader," Trump said. "We have a divided country."

That remark was met with a string of criticisms, including from South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham — who was once an opponent of Trump in the early days of the Republican presidential race.

"This calculation by Trump unnerves me to my core," Graham said.

Thursday night, an interview Larry King did with Trump was broadcast on RT America, which is owned by Russia's government. There have been other ties to Russia within the Trump camp too, such as his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort's links to pro-Russia groups.

Trump's comments about NATO this summer furthered Biden's argument.
