Fired FBI Director James Comey’s appearance on Capitol Hill today is being relentlessly promoted by Democrats and journalists who increasingly see him as their last hope to find some basis for their investigative efforts to destroy the Trump presidency. Even National Public Radio last night said many of them now see it as "a dry hole."
Ironically, literally up to the moment when President Trump sacked him, those partisans generally reviled Comey’s erratic behavior, grandstanding and problematic judgment calls — particularly during the 2016 election.
Today, though, they are praying such qualities will give them something, anything, with which to justify an inquisition that still lacks solid evidence of wrongdoing by the Trump campaign – and, worse yet, that ignores a succession of Democrats who colluded with the Russians in the course of past U.S. elections and/or to the detriment of our national security.
