The Bible says God took six days to create the world. Fifty years ago today, his chosen people began a feat of biblical proportions. In six days, they remade their part of the world through a decisive military victory over an array of Arab enemies determined to destroy the Jewish State.
Israel recaptured parts of the historic land of Israel, including high ground it could use to prevent future, mortal threats to its nation. Israel’s enemies — often joined by her friends, including the U.S. — have been trying to get her to surrender that strategic real estate ever since.
Freedom-loving people should celebrate this anniversary that transformed Israel into a regional superpower, fully capable of defending herself and safeguarding Western civilization on its highly exposed eastern flank. It is in our vital interest to preserve her as such. Mazel Tov, Israel.
