Let’s take a look at the Super Bowl commercials that the automakers have produced.
The action on the field is nothing compared to the action in advertising creative rooms the auto industry gears up for it’s biggest product push of the year for the 2017 Super Bowl!
With over 115 million viewers, Ford, Buick, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Kia, Hyundai and Honda will all represent the auto industry with spots that are entertaining, informative, and hopefully….memorable!
FORD
In its 90 second spot entitled “Go Further” which will air before kickoff - Ford is taking mobility to the masses...
The automaker flaunts its growing ride-sharing and bike sharing services, while also promoting self-driving cars that are still under development….
Ford’s theme proclaims ‘ there is a voice inside all of us that says go further…and that is when things start moving...from innovation to realization.”
BUICK
Buick’s big game ad titled “Pee Wee” stars supermodel Miranda Kerr and NFL MVP Cam Newton....
Spotlighting the Cascada convertible and the Encore compact luxury SUV - the ad takes place at a Pee Wee Football game …and it concludes with an interesting turn of events...
The spot invites fans to experience the new Buick by resetting expectations about the brand’s modern vehicles….
A 60 second version of the ad will air in the first quarter.
LEXUS
After sitting out last year, Lexus returns to the Big Game for the third time with “Man and Machine”...
The spot features nimble moves by dancer Lil Buck, a funky soundtrack from Sia, and narration by British actress Minnie Driver...
The “Man and Machine” Super Bowl spot features the new LS 500
The 30 second version of the commercial is slated to air during the second quarter….you can see an extended version online...
MERCEDES-BENZ
Based on the iconic 1969 cult film “Easy Rider” - Mercedes Benz enlisted Oscar winning directors the Coen Brothers for a spot called “Easy Driver.”
To the thundering sounds of Steppenwolf’s “Born To Be Wild” - the vehicle featured in this spot is the Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster.

KIA
Coming off a record sales year in 2016, Kia is continuing its Super Bowl winning streak with its 8th consecutive big game commercial.
This year’s spot stars comic actress Melissa McCarthy in “Hero’s Journey” - which will air in the third quarter.
The humorous ad, which features McCarthy as a passionate environmentalist who encounters several challenges, highlights the brand’s all new Niro Crossover Hybrid.
Kia is the first brand to launch a Super Bowl commercial on Facebook Messenger.
HONDA
Honda is back in the Super Bowl for the third time..and this is the third time that a Honda CR-V will be featured during the big game!
Millions of viewers will get a closer look at the newest edition of America’s best selling SUV…which is also celebrating its 20th birthday.
The theme of Honda’s 2017 Super Bowl spot is to “believe in ourselves and the power of dreams.”
Last year’s highly successful "A New Truck to Love" ad introduced the new Ridgeline pickup to Queen's iconic "Somebody to Love".
HYUNDAI
In a commercial that will air immediately after the game concludes and before the trophy ceremony, Hyundai will run “Operation Better.”
The auto company has released teasers featuring Super Bowl champions Mike Singletary and Joe Montana.
Hyundai has teamed up with renowned director Peter Berg from Patriots Day, Deepwater Horizon, and Lone Survivor Plus to capture “an amazing story” as it happens live, during the game!
AUDI
Audi returns to the big game with a 60-second spot titled “Daughter” which will air in the third quarter….
This cinematic ad, which debuts the all new Audi S5 Sportback, delivers an emotional message about a father, his daughter and her future…
With a theme of “Progress” - we see the story of a fearless young girl competing in a downhill cart race as her father contemplates whether his daughter’s worth will be measured by her gender through a series of provocative questions.
