The unemployment rate for Hispanic and Latino Americans dropped to 4.6 percent in June, the lowest recorded level since 1973, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. 

Although the unemployment rate for African- and Asian-Americans rose and the rate for white Americans remained the same, Hispanic unemployment fell between May and June of this year. The jobless rate for teenagers fell, while the rate rose for those over 20 and for both women and men.

The results:

  • White: 3.5 percent in May, 3.5 percent in June.
  • Black: 5.9 percent in May, 6.5 percent in June.
  • Asian: 2.1 percent in May, 3.2 percent in June.
  • Hispanic: 4.9 percent in May, 4.6 percent in June.
  • Teens: 12.8 percent in May, 12.6 percent in June.
  • Adult men: 3.5 percent in May, 3. 7 percent in June.
  • Adult women: 3.3 percent in May, 3.7 percent in June.

In 2009, Hispanic unemployment reached 11.3 percent, by President Donald Trump's inauguration, that number had fallen to 5.9 percent.
