Stress from personal finances this month dropped to a record low as Americans saw improved income and job prospects, a study of American adults found.

The Investor's Business Daily/TIPP Financial-Related Stress Index declined by 4.2 points, or 5.1 percent, this month to a reading of 47.4, the lowest in the nearly 11-year history of the measure, according to a statement.

August marks the second time this year that financial stress levels have reached an all-time low, with the previous instance occurring in May, when the Index dropped to 49.9. Further, our stress indicator has fallen 13% over the past year, as more Americans begin to feel in their own lives the effects of a resurging economy, particularly in the form of higher wages.
