This could be a good year for domestic commodity investments. While some investors are concerned about which way the stock market will go, they also know investing in commodities provides diversification and reduces risk.

Commodities include such raw material performances as oil, energy, metals, and agriculture. Many traders believe the bottom has been reached for commodities and that prices will continue to rise through 2017, according to Barron’s.

Investors can put their money in commodity stocks or funds to take advantage of growth and hedge against possible inflation.

Here are seven of the best domestic commodity investments to consider:

  • B2GOLD (BTG) — Gold bugs might like this firm, which took advantage of buying other companies at bargain prices during a bear market, explains Joe Foster, portfolio manager at VanEck International Investors Gold Fund. It is among the companies for safety in case of a future recession, he told Fortune.
  • Barrick Gold Corp. (ABX) — Known as one of the world’s largest gold companies in production and reserves, it could increase revenues during the year, depending on gold prices, U.S. News reports.
  • Rio Tinto (RIO) — The stock has earned returns of more than 30 percent through last year, according to Nasdaq.com. It covers mining, exploration, and processing of mineral reserves.
  • BHP Billiton (BBL) — The company is involved in the production of iron ore, metallurgical coal, copper, and other minerals. It also has interests in energy coal, oil, and gas.
  • Materials Select Sector SPDR (XLB) — The exchange traded fund (ETF) includes such companies as Du Pont, Dow Chemical, and Monsanto in its mix of basic material holdings from the S&P 500, Investors Business Daily notes.
  • Guggenheim Dow Jones Industrial Average Dividend (DJD) — Investors interested in dividends may take advantage of this ETF, which holds stock in dividend-paying companies on the Dow Jones Industrial Average according to yields.
  • Broad range ETFs — PowerShares DB Commodity Index Tracking Fund (DBC) and iShares S&P GSCI Commodity-Indexed Trust (GSG) are two ETFs that cover a varied basket of commodities. These funds are among the best ways to invest in exchange traded funds, according to Forbes.
