No law requires President Donald Trump to release his income tax returns to the public.

Mr. Trump has had his ups and downs in business, but on balance he has been very successful.

Economic success is what our country is all about. Mr. Trump also succeeded in achieving the highest political office in our country.

Many of our presidents have been wealthy. George Washington, one of our greatest presidents, was also one of our wealthiest.

Make no mistake that economic success, the production of income, produces tax revenues for the government.

No rational person wants to pay more taxes than the law requires. Mr. Trump has his accountants and tax attorneys. So does the Internal Revenue Service. Rest assured that every one of Mr. Trump’s tax returns is audited.

The IRS audits tax returns offering the greatest potential recover of additional tax.

If the IRS finds evidence of a crime in Mr. Trump’s tax returns, it will pursue a prosecution.

The IRS likes to make examples of high profile taxpayers—to maximize the deterrence effect of its enforcement buck.

Mr. Trump’s tax returns are a private matter between Mr. Trump and the IRS. The law so provides. They are not a matter between Mr. Trump and liberal activists trying to destroy him.

Other presidents disclosed their tax returns?  Other presidents were weak, and could not negotiate if their life depended on it.  I want a smart, strong president, who recognizes America’s primacy and greatness, and asserts it.

What Donald Trump did as a private citizen, before he became president, is none of my business.

I don’t care about President Trump’s tax returns.
