Entrepreneurs are one of the busiest set of people on earth. There are more jobs to do and several deadline to complete than they have time for. But I’ve discovered that it's one thing to be busy and another to be productive.

Many entrepreneurs have been so much busy without critically looking at the general state of their businesses. Are you in this category? Here are some business hacks you can engage in to increase your productivity;

1. Don’t multitask: Learn the Art of Delegation

Entrepreneurs have self-perfecting tendencies; that is the desire to get things done by themselves and just the way they want it. This trait either gets them exhausted trying to do much at once or results in many uncompleted projects.

The underlining principle of productivity is getting a lot of things done quite well in the least possible time and expending very little resources. And this principle also places delegation as the fastest step to achieve your goals and still remain sane afterwards.

Delegating jobs or works to be done to your team ensures you achieve more at less time saving you time also to focus on other things that may require your attention. Not only does it increase the quality of services you render, your efficiency is also rated and appreciated by people who patronize you.

Nothing is as confusing as trying to do so many things inefficiently. The more delegation you do the more articulated you’ll be to achieve set goals.

2. Know Your MITs for Goals

Goals are the shortest way to getting your vision achieved. One who goes into a venture without a clear goal is doomed already. As a busy entrepreneur you must ensure your daily goals are met because your weekly, monthly and yearly goals are tied to it.

As you set your goals every day, take a close look at the vital tasks to be done. Set your heart to getting it done before moving to any other task. It's advisable you have 2-3 tasks you must get done so as to get closer to your goal.

Here is a simple way to set your MITs right:

  1. List out all the goals you need to achieve for the day.
  2. Take the 3 most important goals/tasks.
  3. Place it as number 1-3 (1-Vital, 2-Important, 3-Optional)
  4. Ensure you focus on the top one on your list and get them done before moving to the rest.

When you focus on the most important tasks it saves time, energy and money thereby increasing your productivity level.

3. Know Your MITs For Strength

You need to know your Most Important Times (MITs). It's the time you are more productive in handling task. Mine is early in the morning from 4am to 7am. Knowing this will help you to get more jobs done with a high efficiency.

It’s also a time when you receive ideas on what to do per-time for your businesses. The act of note taking is critical for every successful entrepreneurs especially the busy ones. Ideas fly like air and when not taken down via any form such as recording or writing it goes away.

You do not need to miss the ideas that come to you during your MITs and any other time in the day. Make sure you have cellphone, paper and pen, index card readily available so as to document your thoughts.

4. Shorten Every Processes

Optimizing processes is one of the effective habits every entrepreneur should try and inculcate. We entrepreneurs regularly meet processes that will take a lot of time from us to get done. It’s a normal occurrence.

From the queues to the paper works that make work slow - all can be avoided or shortened to have you get more time with work. So basically, you should be on the lookout for ways to shorten processes while at work.

Apple doesn't have all the time to manufacture the core materials needed for the production of iPhone 6, most of the parts were parts were manufactured in Asian countries. For instance, I honestly may not have time to queue for an iPhone or run around looking for the procedure for Schengen visa requirements.

What I’ll rather do is look out for companies that shortens these long processes and make it easier to get these tasks done which would end up saving time, energy and money for me. For instance, companies that shorten processes that were usually long are Uber for fast taxi and forward pathway for school transfer etc. The more of these you have in your arsenal, the better you can shorten each long process and save a lot of time and money.
