Obama's $2 Billion for Illegal Aliens Could Fund Extended Unemployment Benefits

A crisis is unfolding along America's southern border, and the only solution proposed by the White House is to throw money at it.

President Obama will ask Congress for more than $2 billion to address the needs of the unaccompanied minors who are making their way across the border because they expect to receive amnesty. There's no time to waste in this crisis and no need to argue about the cause of the crisis.

In reality, thousands of children are confident that Obama will act on his own, without the support of Congress, to give them exactly what they want, which includes citizenship or amnesty. Those children and the families who sent them on their dangerous mission seem to be correct, since Obama is asking for money rather than trying to stop the flow of people crossing the border.

There's no doubt that something needs to be done. But there are also problems in the United States. that could benefit from $2 billion. That money could fund one month of extended unemployment benefits, which seemed to be the biggest problem facing the country last December.

In Washington, no one really has $2 billion to spend on the border or on the unemployed. Washington ran out of money years ago, but continues spending. Until Congress puts a stop to runaway spending, the economy will be stuck in neutral and the ranks of the unemployed without benefits will continue to grow.
