Wednesday, 30 May 2012 02:29 PM EDT

The U.S. Commerce Department proposed duties of as much as 26 percent on wind-tower imports from China, siding with American manufacturers including Broadwind Energy Inc.

The agency today released preliminary results of its investigation into a complaint from the Wind Tower Trade Coalition, which claims its members are being harmed by subsidies from the Asian nation.

In addition to Broadwind of Naperville, Illinois, the group includes Otter Tail Corp.’s DMI Industries, Katana Summit LLC and a unit of Trinity Industries Inc.
