Lawyers for one of two former JPMorgan Chase & Co. workers in London now charged criminally in the U.S. believe he will be cleared of wrongdoing.
Javier Martin-Artajo was charged with conspiracy in New York on Wednesday.
His lawyers released a statement saying he was on a long-planned vacation outside the U.K. and would be returning as scheduled. They say he has cooperated with all internal and external inquiries. The firm says he is confident he will be cleared of any wrongdoing.
The other worker is Julien Grout. Grout's lawyers did not return multiple messages seeking comment.
They worked in London last year when prosecutors say they falsified bank records in a trading deal that ultimately cost the largest U.S. bank more than $6 billion.
