Nokia Said to Agree to Buy Siemens Stake in Joint Venture

Sunday, 30 June 2013 05:18 PM EDT

Nokia Oyj has agreed to buy Siemens AG’s stake in the companies’ telecommunications equipment joint venture, according to three people familiar with the situation.

Nokia may announce as soon as Monday a deal to buy Siemens’s 50 percent shareholding in Nokia Siemens Networks, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing a private matter.

Nokia will pay less than 2 billion euros ($2.6 billion) and use a bridge loan to help finance the purchase, one of the people said. A Siemens spokesman declined to comment.
