Former President Donald Trump has a positive record to rely on in Tuesday's debate, while Vice President Kamala Harris does not, Rep. Ron Estes, R-Kan., told Newsmax on Monday.
"The economy was growing under President Trump, and it's not going now," Estes told "National Report." "We're seeing jobs canceled. You look at the border, and you see your talk earlier about crime and the border: Vice President Harris was supposed to fix that, and she didn't."
Estes, who represents Kansas' 4th Congressional District also praised Trump for signing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act into law, which helped get the economy going and produced wage growth.
"We saw economic growth that actually helped grow the economy and helped with the tax revenue," Estes said. "We've actually had more tax revenue than was projected after that."
The lack of interviews Harris has done is a sign her camp thinks she will not do a good job in the debate, especially after how good Trump was in his debate against President Joe Biden, Estes said.
"President Trump showed an outstanding job and President Biden failed in delivering and communicating what he thought was good in his administration," Estes said. "I think Vice President Harris is going to have a hard time explaining . . . the good things in their policies."
