Automatic Data Processing Inc. is cutting 79 employees before closing its office in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The payroll processing company will hand out pink slips during a 14-day period starting around Nov. 25, MLive reported.

"ADP has made a difficult business decision to close its Ann Arbor office and move these operational functions to another location,” ADP Senior Director Angela Coachman said in a statement obtained by the newspaper. “This decision is part of our recently announced service alignment initiative where subject matter experts, service and implementation and other functional associates work together in co-located, intact teams."

ADP filed a notice with the State of Michigan's Workforce Development Agency and Ann Arbor Mayor Christopher Taylor indicating that the 79 jobs will be gone permanently. The cuts include a business systems analyst and implementation engineers.

"ADP will cooperate with your office and local government officials in any way that we can. Please note that there is no union that represents the affected employees and there are no provisions regarding transfer, bumping or reassignment rights to affected employees," Coachman wrote.

ADP employs 56,700 employees worldwide and reported sales of $12 billion in fiscal 2016, according to its website.
