Sports are an integral part of the curriculum at colleges and universities — many even have their own sports clubs. Most universities and  colleges offer sports scholarships to students who are skilled in a particular sport and who are academically qualified. Among thousands of colleges that place an emphasis on sports, there are a few that stand out from the rest.

Here are five of the most popular universities and colleges for various sports in the U.S.:
 
University of Michigan for Football
The University of Michigan is one of the best colleges for academics and sports in the U.S. It has various sports training programs and has a renowned sports club. The Michigan Wolverines are a leading college football team in the U.S. Michigan is regarded as one of the best universities for football training. It is a member of the Big Ten Conference — the Wolverines have won or shared 42 league titles, more than any other football program in any conference. Michigan has finished in the top 10 American football teams for a record 37 times.
 
University of Texas for Baseball
University of Texas is best known for the Texas Longhorns baseball team, which competes in the Big 12 Conference of the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division I. University of Virginia for Soccer

This soccer college is the home to several successful programs, including Virginia men's soccer. Virginia has played in 15 out of 19 ACC Tournament championship matches, winning ten titles.
