1. Selling Fetus Organs
Planned Parenthood came under fire after the Center for Medical Progress released a controversial video of a Planned Parenthood senior director discussing selling the body parts of aborted fetuses. The video launched an immediate ongoing investigation of the claims with Speaker of the House John Boehner calling on President Obama to “denounce, and stop these gruesome practices,”
Fox News Reported.
2. Failed to Report Rape
In 2014 a Planned Parenthood clinic in Arizona caught the media’s attention when it allegedly neglected to report the rape of an underage girl whose mother had brought her into the clinic for an abortion. The abortion counselor told the girl and her mother that reporting the assault would be a “hassle,”
The Daily Caller reported. Tyler Kost was charged with 27 felonies for the assaults of 11 girls aged 12-17. Between the girl’s January abortion and Kost’s May arrest, he allegedly assaulted four other girls, reported The Daily Caller. In Arizona, failure to report sexual assault is a Class Six felony.
3. Praised by President Obama
In 2012, President Obama released a video where he praised the group and its action fund supporters,
according to USA Today. "For you, and for most Americans, protecting women's health is a mission that stands above politics," he said of Planned Parenthood. "And yet, over the past year, you've had to stand up to politicians who want to deny millions of women the care they rely on,” the president continued.
