South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley's profile has been rising within the Republican Party and she could conceivably be a 2016 presidential candidate.
Haley's the first woman to hold the S.C. governorship, and is America's youngest active governor at age 42. She's also a minority, as an American of Indian descent.

In 2012, speculation centered on her as a possible VP choice for presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, though she said she wouldn't accept the nomination, if offered.
"I'd say, 'Thank you, but no,'"
Haley told ABC News in April 2012. "I made a promise to the people of this state. And I think that promise matters. And I intend to keep it."
Like many politicians, Haley keeps her constituents and fans informed via social media, and has tweeted about her positions on issues such as guns, pay raises, and education.
