‘Today’ Show Losing Meredith Vieira

Meredith Vieira announced Monday that she will be leaving NBC’s ‘Today’ show. While Vieira plans to spend more time with her children, Ann Curry will step in as her replacement.
 

“Even as I say this and I know that it’s the right thing, I’m really sad,” she said during her Monday morning announcement.
 

“She has brought class and dignity and talent and a joy of life to this show for the last five years,” said co-host Matt Lauer.
 

Viera plans to leave in June to join her three children and best-selling author husband Richard M. Cohen.
