Joyce Meyer has worked as a Bible teacher for many years, writing more than 100 books while traveling the world, teaching people about the word of God and how to live a productive life on Earth in order to secure a spot in heaven.
With a schedule that includes dozens of domestic and international conferences every year, here is a look at five of Meyer's most memorable quotes about heaven:
SPECIAL: Prayer Changes Your Brain in 4 Amazing Ways
1. There is not a rule book on what a person has to do to get to heaven. It is about your relationship with God that is most important as Meyer says "we shouldn't be making up religious rules to live by, like having to read our Bible every single day; nor should we do whatever we want to because we know we're going to heaven when we die."
2. Living a good life and sharing a close relationship with God will get a person into heaven. However, it is also important to live the life that God wants you to live, as Meyer points out, "you can live a lazy, undisciplined life and still go to heaven. But you won't have peace, you won't be happy and, worst of all, you won't glorify God with your life the way He intended!"

3. When Jesus died on the cross, he made the ultimate sacrifice for his followers. However, Meyer also points out that "Jesus didn't give His life on the cross just so we could barely get by and struggle through life until we get to heaven. He came so we could have life and enjoy it!"
4. Many people mistakenly assume that the only goal in life is to get to heaven. However, Meyer points out that is not what God wants while we spend time on Earth because "he not only desires for you to be with him in heaven, but it's also His will for you to have a great life here on Earth!"
5. If a person wants a home in heaven, they have to accept the blessings that God gives but not put their own wants ahead of Him. According to Meyer, "nothing is worth giving up the wonderful, peaceful, joyful, righteous, holy life here on Earth and the promise of eternity in heaven."
