Some of the most notable are detailed below.
7mm-08 Remington: The 7mm-08 is a great deer hunting cartridge, and any rifle chambered for it will be a great choice for women who are looking to buy a new rifle,
according to Women’s Outdoor News. This bullet, which is a necked-down version of the .308, shoots flatter than a .308, but does have a slightly heavier recoil than the .243 Winchester.
.25-06 Remington: The .25-06 Remington is another one of the rounds that are considered great for women to use when they’re getting into shooting rifles, either for sport or for hunting,
says Rifle Shooter magazine. The .25-06 is a necked-down version of the incredibly popular .30-06, which helps reduce the recoil of this particular bullet.

The .25-06 shoots fast and flat, and is suited to hunting in the open country for animals like deer and pronghorn. Taking elk with this is feasible, but it’s a little on the light side for some of the larger trophy bull elk.
A hurdle to choosing a great first rifle is first deciding on which caliber is best suited to you as a beginner. For women, the 7mm-08 and the .25-06 Remington are great cartridges, and a lot of guns are chambered for either of these two rounds.
