Firearm enthusiasts can find some of the finest gun ranges in Washington. Facilities in the state offer areas for pistol and rifle practice, sometimes accompanied by firearm sales and rentals.

Here are five spots for firearm and pistol practice in the state of Washington:

1. West Coast Armory: Its 31,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility makes it Washington's premier indoor shooting range, according to West Coast Armory. Located in Bellevue, this club is operated according to law enforcement and military standards. Membership is open to the public. Rifle and handgun enthusiasts can enjoy the high-grade shooting stalls as well as instruction to improve safety skills.

"West Coast works hard to create one of best indoor shooting experiences in the Northwest," writes a Google Plus reviewer. "I've been to quite a few ranges and nothing compares to how nice it is. This place is clean, a good location. I've been a member for around two years now and I am obviously a big fan."

2. Kenmore Shooting Range: Owned and operated by the Wildlife Committee of Washington, located in Bothell, the 80-acre range has facilities for rifle, pistol, airgun and shotgun shooting, as well as for archery. The pistol areas have 25 to 50 yard ranges. There are two high-power rifle ranges and shotgun facilities.

"It's run professionally and you feel a sense of safety using the public range as the range master reviews the lanes every 30 minutes when you have a chance to change out the targets," writes a reviewer on Yelp. "The range fee is reasonable along with other accessories such as ear plugs or ammo you may need to purchase."

3. Champion Arms: Located in Kent, this 25-yard pistol range has 10 lanes. The retail gun store carries new and pre-owned handguns and rifles. Choose from rental guns and shoot semi-automatic pistols and revolvers.

"I've been here several times," writes a reviewer on TripAdvisor. "First and foremost, it is a gun shop with an incredible inventory of weapons, ammo, and gear. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. What I like most about Champion Arms is their shooting range, which is open 365 days a year. If you don't have your own gun, they have a vast selection to choose from for rental. They provide ear and eye protection."

4. English Pit Shooting Range: The English Pit Shooting Range at the Clark County Gun Club is the only public shooting range in the greater Vancouver/Portland area. Rifle ranges have distances from 25 to 100 yards, and pistol ranges are at 25 yards. There are no yearly memberships to use the range.

"Went here for the first time with my wife today to break in my Daniel Defense M4V7 rifle at 25 and 50 yards," writes a reviewer on Facebook. "You have a great place and the staff is very helpful and nice. Thanks for a great experience. We will be back soon and often. Great job guys!"

5. Norpoint Shooting Tactical Training Center: There are 18 indoor shooting lanes in three shooting bays at Norpoint to accommodate most pistols, rifles and shotguns. Located in Arlington, the facility offers basic and advanced firearms courses in large classrooms.

"Staff is great along with a well stocked shop at fair prices," writes a reviewer on Google. "Inside the range can get a bit chilly but there are heaters. Glad to be a member!"
