By    |   Monday, 23 Mar 2015 05:34 AM

Hollywood celebrities frequently make their gun control support known during events and interviews. However, there are those action stars who believe in the rights of gun owners.

Surprisingly, they represent a wide range that covers conservative and liberal affiliations.

Bruce Willis, star of the “Die Hard” movie series, has stood up for the Second Amendment to protect all amendments in the Bill of Rights. “If you take one out or change one law, then why wouldn’t they take all your rights away from you?” he asked. Willis has been a long-time supporter of gun rights, explaining that if you take guns away from law-abiding citizens, “the only people who have guns are the bad guys.”

Vince Vaughn has done his share of comedies but also action roles, including a detective in “The Cell” and a hit man in “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” Vaughn has made his libertarian views known as an advocate of individual rights. “I believe in the right to defend yourself if need be,” he said.

Brad Pitt, who starred in “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” as a hired assassin, often expresses liberal views, but said he believes in keeping his family safe with a gun in the home. The father of six first fired a shotgun at age 6 and a handgun at age 8. Growing up in Missouri, Pitt said, “my father instilled in me a profound and deep respect for the weapon.”

Pitt’s wife, Angelina Jolie, loves guns for the shooting range and for the house. “If anybody comes into my home and tries to hurt my kids, I’ve no problem shooting them,” she once said.

Rapper and actor Ice-T calls the right to bear arms “the last form of defense against tyranny.” Joe Mantegna, the “Criminal Minds” star, supports gun rights as a competition shooter and skeet shooter.

Clint Eastwood is used to having guns around the set and himself. He has long stood out in Hollywood as an avid supporter of gun owner rights and the NRA. He once explained his own gun control policy: “If there’s a gun around, I want to be in control of it.”

James Earl Jones, who has played inspiring roles in drama and action films, is also a member of the NRA. Because good people can still come in contact with violent criminals, “we decent law-abiding citizens should also have guns,” he said.

It’s also no secret in Hollywood that Chuck Norris and Tom Selleck have been among the strongest proponents of the Second Amendment over the years.
