Not Evil Just Wrong

The 2009 documentary by Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer challenges Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” and points out the threat environmental extremism poses to jobs, lifestyles and developing communities. The film draws attention to nine statements that a British high court ruled were not supported by mainstream scientific consensus. The film also looks at unintended consequences of environmental movements, suggesting that millions of people may have died of malaria as a result of the ban on the insecticide DDT.

An Inconsistent Truth

The 2012 film by conservative radio talk show host Phil Valentine rebuts “An Inconvenient Truth” and points out a lack of consensus about anthropogenic climate change. The film talks to climate scientists and illustrates that world’s cycles of getting warmer and cooler for millions of years.

And Inconvenient Truth … or Convenient Fiction?

Steven F. Hayward, a resident scholar at American Enterprise Institute, rebutted the points “An Inconvenient Truth” makes.

“I agree that we’re warming, and I agree that we’re playing a role in it. What I disagree with is his (Al Gore’s) overall pessimism,” Hayward said, according to the New York Times.

“The problem with Vice President Gore and other global warming extremists is that they distort the science, grossly exaggerate the risks, argue that anyone who disagrees with them is corrupt, and suggest that solutions are easy and cheap,” Hayward said, according to the Weekly Standard. “And that's an all too convenient fiction.”

The Great Global Warming Swindle

The controversial 2007 British television documentary, produced by Martin Durkin, disputes the idea that global warming is caused by human activities.

The film drew sharp criticism and was described by The Stanford Review as “a one-sided attack on the predominant scientific consensus on global warming.”

It calls itself “The definitive response to Al Gore’s ‘An Inconvenient Truth,’” according to its website.

Global Warming or Global Governance

The film argues that “warming we are experiencing is natural, with maybe a small amount contributed by man’s activities,” according to its website. It also claims that environmental extremism is being used to create global governance, putting institutions such as the United Nations in control of the U.S. economy.
