By    |   Tuesday, 04 October 2016 09:28 AM

Cruises in Asia offer travelers the experience of rich cultures, warm people, and fascinating historical sights. Passengers can enjoy the beautiful views of the South China Sea or take in the majestic wonders of ancient cities.

Vacationers have the opportunity to choose from Southeast Asia and East Asia itineraries with stops to explore nature, traditional villages, or the bustling city life of Asians.

Here are the six best cruises in Asia to consider:

Latest: What's Your Favorite Type of Vacation? Relaxing or Exploring?

1. Hong Kong and Singapore — Southeast Asia cruises between Hong Kong and Singapore often include stops in Thailand and Vietnam, such as Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang, Cruise Critic notes. Choose from 10- to 14-night cruises or seven-night cruises.

2. Indonesia and Malaysia — These cruises usually depart from Singapore, bringing travelers to such ports as Bali and Komodo, Indonesia; Phuket, Thailand; and Port Kelang, Malaysia.

3. Japan, China, and Korea — East Asia cruise itineraries may stop at ports in the China Sea or along the Yangtze River, according to Cruise Critic. Enjoy four- to nine-night cruises from Tokyo with port stops throughout Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and other spots in China. Some 10- to 14-day cruises will cover Japan, the Japanese islands, and even Vladivostok, Russia. Other cruises include Chinese and Japanese destinations along with Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

4. Shanghai — A unique voyage is offered by Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas, writes Jane McLean in Smart Travel Asia. Four- or five-day cruises leave from Shanghai and bring passengers to port in such places as Busan, South Korea, and Kobe and Hiroshima, Japan. The entertainment aboard includes skydiving experiences and a disco roller rink.

5. Asia river cruises — Many of these cruises depart from or end in Hong Kong or Singapore, according to The Telegraph. Enjoy Malaysia, Thailand, Burma, and Sri Lanka with 14-night cruises or take in three-week itineraries to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea.

6. Mekong river cruises — River cruises include visits to Singapore, Hong Kong, Cambodia, and Japan. Some of them will bring excited tourists to Borneo, Indonesia, Thailand, and China where people can visit the Great Wall.
