2. “Nosferatu, a Symphony of Horror,” 1922
The silent film “Nosferatu” is clearly an adaptation of “Dracula.” Like “Dracula,” the protagonist travels to Transylvania to stay in the castle of a man who turns out to be a vampire. In fact, “Nosferatu” is so similar to “Dracula” that the family of Dracula’s creator sued. As a result of that case, the judge ordered all copies of the movie destroyed, but a few remained to entertain audiences for decades. “Nosferatu” has a score of 97 percent.

3. “Repulsion,” 1965
The film centers around a young girl who, when left alone at her home for an extended period of time, begins to have terrifying flashbacks about her past. These flashbacks cause her to respond with extreme violence toward visitors who remind her of those flashbacks. It has a score of 100 percent.

4. “King Kong,” 1933
The giant gorilla named King Kong was found on the mysterious Skull Island. He had lived there with other giant creatures such as dinosaurs. A film crew who intended to display him as the “Eighth Wonder of the World” captured him and brought him to New York. Drama ensued when King Kong escaped and rampaged through the city. This iconic film culminates in the well-known image of King Kong climbing the Empire State Building, swiping at planes. It has a score of 98 percent.
