Best Superbowl Commercials 2011

Monday, 07 February 2011 10:06 AM EST

Those who aren’t football fans might say that the best part of last night’s Super Bowl game was the commercials.

USA Today has what’s called an “ad meter” that tracks how Super Bowl ads perform based on the second-by-second responses of a panel of viewers. The ads are then ranked best to worst.

Two ads topped this year’s list, tying for first place, and both happen to feature dogs. The awards belong to Doritos and Anheuser-Busch, maker of Bud Light. Both scored an 8.35 on the ad meter.

Following close behind with a score of 7.95 was Volkswagen, with its commercial about a young boy pretending to be Darth Vader who thinks he started dad’s VW with “the Force.”

Below is a video of the Darth Vader commercial.
