Presidents and politicians have always provided plenty of fodder for late-night talk show hosts looked for comedic material. While for the most part, liberal hosts initially took it easy on President Barack Obama, the bloom is off the rose and the failings and scandals of his administration have made him an easy target.

Here are 10 times late-night talk show hosts have made President Obama the butt of jokes:

1. "You realize you're an emperor now; it has been declared. You are Barackus Maximus I. ... Why did you burn the Constitution and become an emperor?" Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert to guest President Obama, 2015.

2. As reported by The Blaze, liberal funnyman Jimmy Fallon from "The Tonight Show" took a fierce poke at Obama less than two months before the 2014 midterm elections. "More bad news for the president. Chicago is reversing its plan to name a high school after President Obama because it received multiple complaints from people in the community. I guess — I guess parents are afraid their kids would spend 8 years at the school and still not get anything done."

3. Host of CBS's "Late Show" David Letterman addressed Bowe Bergdahl and the VA scandal with one joke. "Bowe Bergdahl was over there for five years, he's now recovering in a German hospital, because he couldn't get into a VA facility," reports Breitbart.

4. "He's here in town to go to fundraisers, where he will spend the evening pretending to care about what celebrities think. I feel like the president only comes to LA for money. He's like a college student who comes home to do laundry and steal food from the refrigerator." Jimmy Kimmel after President Obama did not make a scheduled appearance on CBS's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" 2014.

5. "Democrats in state legislatures are at their lowest level since the 1920s. President Obama has a can't-miss strategy to save the party in 2016. He's leaving." Craig Ferguson on CBS's "The Late Late Show."

6. "During last night's address, President Obama said that to combat the terrorist group ISIS, he plans to train and arm, train and arm, moderate Syrian rebels. That way we know exactly who we'll have to fight in ten years. Because that — that's how it works." Seth Meyers on NBC's "Late Night."
