The Jackson 5 will reunite next year, with superstar sister Janet as opening act.
Eldest brother Jermaine confirmed the musical family reunion to the Australian Associated Press at a TV industry function Wednesday in Sydney, Australia, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"This has been a long time coming for the Jackson family to get back together," he told the Australian AP.
"What we've been doing is working on the music and all the logistics. It is going to be more like a family affair. Janet's going to open and, of course, the original Jackson 5 — Michael, Randy, and the whole family — we're in the studio, we're planning on being out there next year," he said.
The siblings, fronted by future King of Pop Michael Jackson, began their historic tenure with Detroit’s Motown Records with four consecutive chart-topping singles and later added more hits. Janet, who was never a member of the group, later attained stardom as a solo performer.
The Jackson 5 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
