Last week on CBS’ “60 Minutes” hallowed rocker and balladeer Bruce Springsteen showed himself to be just another knee-jerk, wacko leftie during his interview with CBS’s Scott Pelley, as part of a two-segment profile of the renowned New Jersey singer.
When Pelley asked “The Boss” what he saw as his role as an observer of society, Springsteen let rip a tirade of aspersions "framed" within the scope of his self-proclaimed arbiter of American values, as he said: "to compare American actions with American ideals."
Springsteen said that America fell “far short” of his expectations:
"I think we've seen things happen over the past six years that I don't think anybody ever thought they'd ever see in the United States," Springsteen said. "When people think of the United States' identity, they don't think of torture. They don't think of illegal wiretapping. They don't think of voter suppression," he says. "They don't think of no habeas corpus," he says, a reference to prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
"Those are things that are anti-American," Springsteen adds. "There's been a whole series of things that ... I never thought I'd ever see in America."
WAIT A MINUTE, BOSS!
The simple truth is, you haven’t seen any of these things in America!
The reality is that Springsteen has swallowed the extreme-left, George Soros-inspired and funded phony view of the last six years, with nary an original individual thought, to wit:
1. Torture: There has been NO indication or evidence of the U.S. military promoting or allowing torture of any kind, in any venue.
2. Illegal wiretapping: There has NEVER been any instance of the U.S. government engaging in illegal wiretapping.
3. Voter suppression: No one other than radical, left-wing propagandists hold this view: NO VOTES HAVE EVER BEEN DOCUMENTED to have been suppressed.
4. Habeas corpus: This only applies to U.S. citizens; therefore any feeble attempt to extend the rights of Americans to govern those of enemy combatants is flawed on its face.
What a pity that some celebrities, including “The Boss,” continue to sing their radical, unfounded views!
He should stick to crooning “Born To Run” and stop clinging to his ill-informed “Born To (Cut &) Run" leftist diatribe.
