Unequal Treatment of Flynn, Clinton Camp Shows FBI Bias

Unequal Treatment of Flynn, Clinton Camp Shows FBI Bias

It appears there is a double standard when it comes to lying to the FBI. In the case of General Michael Flynn, it spells big trouble. He is associated with Donald Trump which appears to be the anchor for severe consequences.

But it appears the standards for intense scrutiny by the FBI are changing. Whether it is a change of heart (doubtful) or the glare of publicity, the rules are headed towards a more even-handed approach.

The latest change in direction occurred Tuesday afternoon when it was reported evidence of partisan FBI bias within the ranks was revealed. Washington is “shocked” to hear new revelations that a pro-Clinton mole within the country’s premier law enforcement agency may have been personally involved in Hillary Clinton’s surprise exoneration of criminal behavior as secretary of state and her use of a private email server.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller has removed FBI agent Peter Strzok from his investigation into Russia-Trump collusion. He was reportedly dumped for expressing anti-Trump sentiment in messages to a mistress, an FBI lawyer.

Not surprisingly to many following this never-ending investigation, Strzok was the agent who changed the FBI’s description of Hillary’s behavior with the email server from “grossly negligent” to “extremely careless.” That announcement was made in July 2016 by then-FBI Director James Comey on national TV.

The news shocked many legal scholars who were perplexed by the legalities of such a decision. But it supposedly brought an end to any criminal probe of Clinton. Now it appears that the entire episode has become a political nightmare for the squeaky clean FBI.

CNN reported the following on Tuesday: “A former top counterintelligence expert at the FBI, now at the center of a political uproar for exchanging private messages that appeared to mock President Donald Trump, changed a key phrase in former FBI Director James Comey’s description of how former secretary of state Hillary Clinton handled classified information, according to US officials familiar with the matter.”

It now appears that Strzok personally helped Hillary Clinton in the midst of her presidential campaign. Additionally, he may have been responsible for allowing her closest aides to escape prosecution for allegedly lying to the FBI. Whereas Flynn was taken down for lying to the FBI, the very same alleged offense by Clinton’s closest confidants got a pass.

Meanwhile, Strzok has now been fired from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation team for sending anti-Donald Trump text messages. The very same man who conducted the interviews with two Hillary Clinton aides, Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin, accused of giving false statements about what they knew of the former secretary of state’s private email server.

Neither of these women has faced any legal consequences. The idea that the entire investigation into Trump is tainted grows by the day. There is no question that Strzok allowed this to happen.

The Russian collusion investigation has been compromised at the highest levels of the FBI. The Justice Department has the obligation to launch an investigation of this investigation to the ever-growing disgust for authority the American people share.
