The media’s obsession with Russian collusion and President Trump’s White House has entered its second year. While most polls indicate the majority of Americans have grown tired of the investigation without evidence or an end, the search for the media’s Holy Grail continues.

The far left, suddenly hardened anti-Russians after 50 years otherwise, accuse Trump for being soft on Moscow. If Thursday’s news was any indication of yet another media untruth, it came loud and clear.

The president ordered additional sanctions on the Russian government who allegedly participated in an attempted murder in Great Britain. This will not bode well for the president’s media-derived cozy relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders may have summed up the president’s stance on Russia best by telling assembled reporters, Trump “has been extremely tough on Russian throughout his administration.”

That goes against 90 percent of the media’s narrative, which brings the critics to their soap boxes. One such person is a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress, Max Bergmann. Most Americans will not recognize the institution he represents, but it is fair to say it is a liberal group highly unfriendly to most everything Donald Trump says or does.

Bergmann characterized Trump’s actions as “a very short first step.” As mentioned above, the liberals apparently have shed their traditional dove outfits for a new hawkish look that comes surprisingly at precisely the same time Donald Trump became president.

He added, "The thing that would carry impact is if they heard he himself saying or even tweeting something negative about Russia."

But it was his final quote that defines the new hawkish liberal since Trump was elected. Speaking of the sanctions, a defiant Bergmann said, “Because ultimately, if this does escalate, the United States is really going to have to do something more forceful, and that is going to require the president.”

What would that be? Is the liberal from the Center for American Progress suggesting open conflict? It is difficult to grasp the mindset of this new wave of thinking from a group of far left individuals who until recently were for peace at any cost.

Are liberals clinging to national polls that show a slight margin of Americans still believe Trump is hiding something? Will they go forward in the midterm elections selling this idea after 18 months of investigations that have proven nothing?

Thursday’s announcement was presented almost simultaneously from the White House, Treasury Department, and State Department.

Trump has been in a position since inauguration with the liberal media that he is damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. They venomously hate the man and will do whatever they can to destroy his presidency. With that accurate assessment in place, when will the American people see through this ongoing dog and pony show?
