The sad commentary on today’s so-called mainstream media is the limited amount of information they deliver. Most of this nation’s members of the press will never miss an opportunity to provide a negative story on their arch nemesis, Donald Trump. But that comes at the expense of everything else that is happening in this country, much of which is important news.

Take for instance the economy. Not in recent memory, and that would be decades, has America’s economy been so robust. There is no indicator more powerful of this than the unemployment figures from the U.S. Department of Labor. There is little need for this administration to fudge the incredible numbers or consider McDonalds jobs as a steady career.

Last Friday, with scant media attention, the U.S. Labor Department released its latest "Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey." There is no question that had this report been released during any part of the Obama years, it would have been front page news and the lead-in for every CNN show.

The remarkable findings included the fact that businesses are actively seeking new people for better and higher paying jobs. The job openings level has increased to a record high of 6.3 million, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.

This is not just a record; it is the largest number of positions ever recorded. All present indicators show even more improvement through the rest of 2018. That indicates with a record high 6.3 million job openings and 4.1 percent of all positions in general, employers will be increasing salaries to meet the new demand.

Besides the above statistics, 1.3 million people joined the labor force in the first two months of the year. That will embolden the confidence of business organizations moving forward with this incredible economic growth and expectations for labor market strength.

Furthermore, the ratio of jobs openings to unemployment reached 1.0 for the first time since the government started tracking the data. There are no records kept from any time in the nation’s history were jobs were so plentiful for those who want one.

Americans are moving off government assistance and into the workplace. That means less stress on taxpayers in terms of public assistance including food stamps.

This is the real story occurring in the U.S. every day. Sadly, most consumers of news receive a regular partisan menu of unverified leaks, innuendo and personal commentary disguised as "news."
