The raw and hysterical reaction to President Donald Trump’s pick to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy on the Supreme Court is indicative of the desperation the left feels in today’s political world. The one branch of power they have been able to filter their liberalism through for decades is on the verge of disappearing.

With the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the highest court in the land, the tide has turned to strict constitutional interpretation of the law rather than legislating from the bench. That is bad news for the left in this country who depend on SCOTUS to uphold their liberal thought.

At this juncture in American history, not only have the Democrats lost the legislative and executive branches of government, but now it appears their hold on the judicial branch is waning. It is a precedent not been seen since the early 1920’s and the left will not go down without an ugly and protracted confirmation fight.

The odds are stacked against their winning this fight. The far left will do everything in their power to deny what appears to be a highly qualified nominee from ever seeing the black robe of the high court.

This is only the latest installment in how President Trump has driven liberals over the edge of sanity. They have lost their political power. Losing their opportunity to translate the Constitution in their version of its interpretation appears to be the last straw.

But there has been an inordinate number of hints this was coming. But it seems no matter what the biased media throws at Trump, his popularity continues to grow in national polling. Last week the left’s outrage over migrant children being incarcerated at the border without their parents was the latest hot issue. Yet a CNBC survey showed President Trump winning his highest approval ratings ever.

It appears that no matter what the left conjures up to attract sympathy for their perceived plight, it gets 15 minutes of notoriety and the country moves on.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-L.A.) is a shining example. No one in Congress gets more national exposure than this woman. She rants against the president, accuses him of everything under the sun and demands his impeachment. The dial on Trump’s popularity does not waver.

The accusations fly. Trump haters scream racism, lack of compassion, Islamophobia, homophobia, and even Nazism. Rather than dent his armor, it appears the president is developing what was once a Reagan term; Teflon. The media has saturated average Americans with this overzealousness of hatred to the point of deafness. They have succeeded in developing a kind of sympathy for the bombastic Trump.

The incivility of our public servants in Washington has reached a volume so outrageous that there is no shock value left. The Democratic Party’s best pitchmen appear to be speaking to their own choir and attracting zero new recruits. The noise has grown so mundane that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has asked Waters politely to shut up.

For many Americans the last straw of decency was the Red Hen Restaurant incident a few weeks ago in Virginia. The manager refused service to Trump’s press secretary, Sarah Sanders, a woman widely credited with professionally handling a very tough job — about the same time Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was harassed in a very public way.

Liberals have crossed the line of Americans on morality. This goes beyond politics and engages civil society itself. Is this what most of the people want to see? Is this good television at the dinner hour? Even the liberal New York Times has suggested the left back off. The newspaper noted that President Trump’s approval among Republicans stands at an incredible 90 percent.

The Democratic Party and the far left may be baffled with this new age of American politics, but they must adapt to survive. They have no one to blame but themselves for the quandary they find themselves in. Since the inauguration of Barack Obama in 2009, they have managed to lose the House, Senate, and the presidency. All the stomping and marching will change nothing with the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Like it or not, this highly qualified man will be confirmed. With that confirmation comes a Court that has taken a conservative turn toward strict interpretation of the document that has guided this country for 142 years; the Constitution.
