The words "anti-hate" are apparently an oxymoron to the folks who run CNN and other liberal news outlets. From the perspective of their on-air personalities and reporters, "hate groups" do not include the likes of Black Lives Matter or Antifa.
Even though their history proves otherwise.
That can be the only explanation one can surmise by watching their coverage of the so-called "Unite the Right" rally in Washington, D.C. last Sunday.
Their inability to describe the rally’s interruption by violent Antifa demonstrations was made more curious considering the Obama administration had labeled the group perpetrators of "domestic terrorist violence."
Nevertheless, CNN came to the "rally" armed to the teeth with quizzical reporters and multiple camera locations for the anticipated action. Much like covering a prize fight, the CNN correspondents prepared us with gloomy anticipation for the action to come.
The only setback for the vast build-up was the rally size itself. There were maybe 40 so-called white nationalists who milled around looking lost.
There they were supposedly observing the Charlottesville, Virginia riot of 2017. These CNN-casted villains looked more like sleepy-eyed punks who had just awaken from a night on their parent’s couch. It became apparent rather quickly they were outmatched by the more than 200 violent and masked Antifa anarchists.
It was a clear case of "Leave It to Beaver" meets "The Terminator." While the supposed "white right wing" milled around probably wondering when the soda shop opened, members of Antifa flung eggs, bottles, and the kitchen sink at police officers and U.S. Secret Service members.
It was difficult to determine why these masked thugs were so upset, but they probably did not know either.
However, the CNN coverage would have confused you. Antifa was described as an "anti-hate group" while the disorganized and highly routed white guys were little more than wide eyes and open mouths. You would have thought the news crews would have run for their lives when they too were threatened. Antifa was no different in their violent demeanor than they had been a year ago in Charlottesville.
However, this was the pre-ordained story CNN came to report. Unfortunately, having cameras there for live coverage made their account seem a bit skewed. It was more of the usual Antifa violence that unprovoked Americans have grown accustomed to seeing.
Peaceful demonstrators captured the violence on cell phone video. It was a far cry from the account CNN provided of the "anti-hate" demonstrators confronting the dark and evil white right wing. The entire incident became ludicrous to anyone with an ounce of common sense.
The scene was no different than many before it. Antifa has regularly attacked members of the media, police and even innocent bystanders. It is nothing new. Never accused of being a conservative news operation, Politico wrote in September of 2016, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) formally classified their (Antifa) activities as "domestic terrorist violence," according to interviews and confidential law enforcement documents.”
It seemed rather strange watching this brawl that CNN called Antifa an "anti-hate" group. A CNN screen banner rolling across the TV screens of America during coverage of the violence announcing, "Anti-hate groups dramatically outnumber white supremacists in D.C."
The only conclusion one can make from CNN’s biased coverage is this: You will be considered a peaceful protestor defying the hated of others if it is viewed in any way as an anti-Trump message.
The left wonders why Americans are skeptical of their so-called news coverage. Is it any wonder that Gallup reported back in 2016 that "Americans' trust and confidence in the mass media 'to report the news fully, accurately and fairly' has dropped to its lowest level in Gallup polling history."
Since that poll, it has gone nowhere but down. CNN once was a respected news organization. But is has lost its direction and has become a functioning apologist for the Democratic Party. They now actively promote fiction and their own version of what is "news." Their reporters are now commentators and their supposed journalists nothing more than cheer leaders for the left.
President Obama used to bitterly complain about his press coverage, specifically singling out Fox News. President Trump has the same complaints with a huge difference. Fox encompasses approximately ten percent of the news coverage.
The difference in the two presidents’ complaints are like night and day. Obama was battling one voice while Trump battles literally hundreds.
CNN chooses to cast the president as a racist through the activities described above. They do so as their coverage divides the country. The American people are manipulated by their narrative. There is no line between commentary/opinion and straight news.
Those who control the power of decision at CNN loathe this country.
The network will go to any lengths to present their own fictionalized version of racism to slander the president. They can’t see past their own blind hatred of Trump and anyone who voted for him. It is a sad state of affairs these days trying to watch the so-called "news."
