In the midst of the
impeachment malarkey, while I’m receiving so many texts and phone calls either of concern from President Trump lovers, or doom and gloom and threats from Trump haters and pessimists in general, a voice of reason seems to be calling the faithful to a unifying spirit that includes kindness, forgiveness, and Agape Love.
Meanwhile, some less benevolent force is aggressively seducing the masses to seek violence and aggression in our communities.
In the midst of all of this, we must constantly be reminded that in the end, policy trumps the political. The Spirit trumps the social.
This most recent bloodthirsty demand for impeachment, a drive based on lies, secrecy, and hearsay reminds one of a passage in 1 Kings 18.
Let’s examine the passage through 21st century “woke” lenses.
“Then the Truth-seekers said: Let the haters seek impeachment. Let them lay it out on their altar — but don’t ignite it. We will take the truth, lay it before the people. And wait; neither will we light the fire. Now you do your worst; we will do our best. You fan the media furor, we will pray to GOD.
The one who answers with fire will prove to be, in fact, God.
All the people agreed: “A good plan — do it!”
Meanwhile, truth seekers challenge the haters: “Choose your sacrifice and prepare it. You go first, you’re the majority. Then pray to your god, but don’t light the fire.” So they took their sacrifice, prepared it for the altar, then prayed to Politics. They prayed all morning long, “O Politics, answer us!” But nothing happened — not so much as a whisper of breeze. Desperate, they jumped and stomped on the altar they had made.
This went on until well past noon. They used every religious trick and strategy they knew to make something happen on the altar, but nothing happened — not so much as a whisper, not a flicker of response.
The haters fanned the fire. For hours and days, the haters did their worst. Finally, as the impeachment drama escalated, and the accusations didn’t stick, the truth seekers began to fight back: Lie a little harder — your lies keep falling apart. Maybe your champions are meditating somewhere or other, or maybe they’ve gotten involved in another project, or maybe they’re on vacation. You don’t suppose they’ve overslept, do you, and need to be “woke” up?”
The haters tried harder and harder, involved in tricks, traps, and occultist tactics — rituals common to them — until they were covered with blood; including the blood of innocents in the womb, human trafficking, prison, and oppression. And still no one rewarded them.
Finally, the truth seekers spoke up. Enough of that — it’s our turn. Gather around.” And the people [the voters] woke up. The truth seekers restored the altar of the halls of justice back together for by now it was in ruins.
The truth seekers and the people strengthened the tribes of justice and rebuilt the altar in honor of GOD. They dug a fairly wide trench around the altar. They laid firewood on the altar, and prepared the sacrifice of praise, obedience, and Agape Love.
They drenched the sacrifice again and again and again, until the altar was drenched and the trench was filled with water.
When it was time for the sacrifice of truth, praise and obedience to be offered, as one blood and one voice, the truth seekers came together in unity and prayed. “O GOD, to whom vengeance belongs, make it known right now that you are God and God alone, and that we are Your servants, and that we are doing what we are doing under your orders. Answer us O GOD; O answer us and reveal to these people that you are GOD, the true God, and that you are giving these people another chance at repentance.”
A Challenge from Truth Seekers to America:
“How long are we going to sit on the fence? If GOD is the real God, follow GOD; if it’s the politicians, follow them. Make up your minds!”
Immediately the fire of GOD fell upon the altar of the truth seekers and burned up the offering, the wood, the stones, the dirt, and even the water in the trench. All the people saw it happen and fell on their faces in awed worship, exclaiming, “GOD is the true God! GOD is the true God!
Truth seekers arise. We don’t worship government, we worship God. Overcome impeachment with truth. Pray for America.
