A report released in March 2021 from the National Intelligence Council, "Foreign Threats on the 2020 U.S. Federal Elections" concluded Russia, Iran and China all played a big hand in election interference in our nation’s 2020 presidential election.

When the report was released, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines declared, "Foreign malign influence is an enduring challenge facing our country, these efforts by U.S. adversaries seek to exacerbate divisions and undermine confidence in our democratic institutions."

I couldn’t agree more with Director Haines.

Dare I say --- the vast majority of Americans probably also agree.

Any foreign government that has played a role in undermining U.S. elections should feel the full wrath of U.S. sanctions and we should prosecute all individuals to the fullest extent of the law.

Last week, the Biden administration took action based on this report when they announced a slew of new sanctions against Russia over alleged interference in the 2020 election, a cyberattack against U.S. government and corporate networks, illegal annexation and occupation of the Crimea, and human rights abuses.

The NIC’s report states, "We assess that Iran carried out a multi-pronged covert influence campaign intended to undercut former President Trump’s reelection prospects to undermine public confidence in the electoral process and US institutions, and sow division and exacerbate social tensions in the U.S."

The report goes on to clearly indicate: "We assess that Supreme Leader Khamenei authorized the campaign and Iran’s military and intelligence services implemented it using overt and covert messaging and cyber operations."

So while the NIC report identifies Russia, Iran and China as directly interfering in U.S Elections last year --- Russia was the only country to receive a penalty for their actions of meddling in our elections.

I suppose President Appeasement, aka President Biden, didn’t think a "multi-pronged cover influence campaign" from Iran was anything to be concerned with.

Unfortunately, we shouldn’t be surprised that Russia received sanctions while Iran and China were given a free pass.

The Biden administration has made it clear that they will do whatever is needed to appease the Iranian Regime while also dismissing the Chinese’s government’s blatant human rights violations related to the millions of Uyghurs in work camps.

If the Biden administration had leveled sanctions against the Iranian Regime in response to their efforts to meddle in our elections, that would upset the mullahs in Iran and we know that Biden, the appeaser in chief, doesn’t want to upset this terrorist regime.

In closing, I want all Americans to ask yourself this: Why does the Biden administration continue to appease the Iranian Regime and how do you, the American people, stand to benefit from re-entering the The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and furthering this appeasement approach to the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism?

Don’t be surprised if you find yourself scratching your head and unable to come up with an answer. The bottom line is the American people don’t stand to benefit whatsoever from our government re-establishing diplomatic ties with the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism.

The very fact that our government has any interest in having a conversation with another government that chants "Death to America" is of grave concern.

The maximum pressure campaign from the previous administration, coupled with overwhelming success of the Abraham Accords was the right approach to take with Iran.

The Biden administration would be wise to carry forward President Trump’s legacy in the Mideast but we all know they won’t

The question must be asked: Why not?
