When It Comes to Global Warming, Something's Rotten in Denmark

Life, Shakespeare tells us, often is "is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

The line from MacBeth applies today, amid the great global warming hoax that is the linchpin of the gathering of global warming fanatics in Copenhagen. But today's tale of sound and fury signifies nothing except the sheer dishonesty of the global warmists meeting in Denmark.

In light of the shocking revelations of rigged studies and concealment of evidence that contradicts their belief that the planet is warming catastrophically, it is mind-boggling that they would dare to meet — acting as if the dishonesty of some of their most prominent colleagues had never been exposed, along with the falsity of global warming.

They continue to insist that the weight of scientific evidence proves conclusively that the planet continues to warm while instead, it is cooling demonstrably. They call the sudden drop in global temperatures the "decline" and try to hide it from the public, who must be convinced that we will be roasted on the spit of global warming unless we turn our lives, our liberty, and our wealth over to our global masters in the United Nations.

Of course, aiding them is the mainstream media, which has downplayed the climategate scandal. To them it simply never happened, but if it did it doesn't really matter. The planet is warming. That's it. Accept it or get branded as a believer that the earth is flat. Al Gore told us that, and Gore's word is unimpeachable because he is a Nobel Prize winner.

The paper curtain concealing climategate opened a bit in New Zealand, where some courageous journalists looked at the "evidence" that New Zealand was heating up dangerously because of a local episode of global warming and discovered that it was rigged.

John Lott, one of the most astute observers of scientific fraud, examined what happened with climategate in New Zealand and observed: "What did we find? First, the station histories [of the instruments meant to measure temperatures across New Zealand] are unremarkable. There are no reasons for any large corrections. But we were astonished to find that strong adjustments have indeed been made."

He discovered that about half of the so-called adjustments to the readings of those monitoring stations "actually created a warming trend where none existed; the other half greatly exaggerated existing warming. All the adjustments increased or even created a warming trend, with only one (Dunedin) going the other way and slightly reducing the original trend."

The "shocking truth is that the oldest readings have been cranked way down and later readings artificially lifted to give a false impression of warming, as documented below. There is nothing in the station histories to warrant these adjustments," Lott said.

He cited one monitoring station in Hokitika, which for no apparent reason had its early temperatures reduced by a huge 1.3°C, creating strong warming from what was actually a mild cooling.

Lott concludes, "We have discovered that the warming in New Zealand over the past 156 years was indeed man-made, but it had nothing to do with emissions of CO2 — it was created by man-made adjustments of the temperature. It’s a disgrace."

As New Zealand goes, so goes the rest of the world of global warming hysteria. Studies have revealed that the warming monitoring stations in the United States are unreliable because of the placement of many adjacent to warming sources such as air conditioner compressors and the like. Yet those false readings form most of the case for global warming.

In the meantime, it is getting colder all over the globe.

As reported in Robert Felix's authoritative iceagenow.Com, today's weather included such evidence of global warming as a massive snowstorm and brutal cold, with temperatures plummeting below zero in Billings, Mont.; Casper, Wyo.; and Dickinson, N.D. Cut Bank, Mont., could see a low of minus 20 degrees. And a large snowstorm could put the rest of the Midwest, including Minneapolis, Des Moines, and Omaha, in a deep freeze by midweek.

They would all appreciate a little local warming of the folks in Copenhagen can arrange it.

And the sound and the fury go on and on.
