The Newsmax Rising Bestsellers list will do more than stimulate your mind. These reads may challenge your beliefs, broaden your perspectives, excite your curiosities, or widen your imagination.

These books may not necessarily appear on the official New York Times list of bestsellers, but they're the ones our Newsmax audience is reading, talking about, sharing with friends, and buying.

Here are the Newsmax Rising Bestsellers for the week of Dec. 28, 2020:

  1. "Post Corona: From Crisis to Opportunity" by Scott Galloway (Portfolio). Galloway, a professor at the New York University Stern School of Business, looks at who stands to win and who's at risk to lose in a post-pandemic world. He argues that the pandemic has not been a change agent so much as an accelerant of trends already well underway. According to Galloway, some businesses, like the powerful tech monopolies, will thrive as a result of the disruption. Other industries, like higher education, will struggle to maintain a model that no longer makes sense when we can't stand shoulder to shoulder. (Nonfiction)
  2. "The Last American Aristocrat: The Brilliant Life and Improbable Education of Henry Adams" by David S. Brown (Scribner). Adams, a historian, political commentator, and memoirist, was the last member of his distinguished family — after great-grandfather John Adams, and grandfather John Quincy Adams — to gain national attention. He lived through the Civil War and the Industrial Revolution, met Abraham Lincoln, and counted powerful figures, including Secretary of State John Hay, Senator Henry Cabot Lodge, and President Theodore Roosevelt, as friends and neighbors. Adams' observations of these men and their policies in his private letters reveal a Gilded Age America on the cusp of the modern era. (Nonfiction)
  3. "Bag Man: The Wild Crimes, Audacious Cover-Up, and Spectacular Downfall of a Brazen Crook in the White House" by Rachel Maddow and Michael Yarvitz (Crown). The authors explore the federal probe of Richard Nixon's Vice President Spiro Agnew, who was suspected of criminal conspiracy, bribery, extortion, and tax fraud. As the investigation proceeded, there were attempts at a cover-up, allegedly involving future President George H. W. Bush. A backroom bargain forced Agnew's resignation but spared him years in federal prison. The book is based on an award-winning podcast. (Nonfiction)
  4. "Fly Into the Wind: How to Harness Faith and Fearlessness on Your Ascent to Greatness" by Lt. Col. Dan Rooney (Dey Street Books). Rooney, an F-16 fighter pilot, American hero, Folds of Honor founder, PGA professional, and inspirational family man, lays out a motivational code for living to help everyday people ascend to their highest level in life. He explains how all of us are connected by God in more ways than we realize, and that the path to fulfillment begins with changing ourselves in order to better one another. (Nonfiction)
  5. "Unsinkable: Five Men and the Indomitable Run of the USS Plunkett" by James Sullivan (Scribner). The USS Plunkett, a U.S. Navy destroyer, sustained the most harrowing attack on any American sea vessel by the Germans during World War II. This account — based on Navy logs, war diaries, action reports, letters, journals, memoirs, and dozens of interviews — focuses on five of the sailors aboard the ship as peril escalates in the Mediterranean. (Nonfiction)
