The Newsmax Rising Bestsellers list will do more than stimulate your mind. These reads may challenge your beliefs, broaden your perspectives, excite your curiosities, or widen your imagination.

These books may not necessarily appear on the official New York Times list of bestsellers, but they're the ones our Newsmax audience is reading, talking about, sharing with friends, and buying.

Here are the Newsmax Rising Bestsellers for the week of March 1, 2021:

  1. “Grace & Steel: Dorothy, Barbara, Laura, and the Women of the Bush Dynasty’’ by J. Randy Taraborrelli (St. Martin’s Press). Taraborrelli, a veteran biographer, looks at the unsung heroines of the Bush family dynasty: First ladies Barbara and Laura; Barbara’s mother-in-law Dorothy; Jeb Bush’s wife Columba; Neil Bush’s ex-wife Sharon; and Laura’s twins, Jenna and Barbara. No matter the challenges related to power and politics, the women of the Bush dynasty always fought for equality in their marriages as they raised their children to be true to American values, the author writes. He also reveals the story behind the fraught relationship between Nancy Reagan and Barbara Bush that culminated in an angry phone call during which Barbara told Nancy she would never speak to her again — and she didn’t. (Nonfiction)

  2. “Lucky: How Joe Biden Barely Won the Presidency’’ by Jonathan Allen & Amie Parnes (Crown). Allen, a senior political analyst with NBC News digital, and Parnes, a senior correspondent for The Hill, look at Joe Biden’s harrowing ride to victory. The authors say his win came amid a Democratic Party at odds with itself, torn between the single-minded goal of removing Donald Trump and the push for a bold progressive agenda that threatened to alienate as many voters as it drew.

They detail the string of chance events that saved him, from the botched Iowa caucus tally that concealed his terrible result, to the pandemic lockdown that kept him off the stump, where he was often at his worst. (Nonfiction)

  3. “The Mission: A True Story’’ by David W. Brown (Custom House). In October 2024, the United States will launch a multibillion-dollar rocket 385 million miles into deep space to explore Europa, the smallest of Jupiter’s four moons which scientists believe may contain water and extraterrestrial life. Brown, a former Army paratrooper and veteran of Afghanistan, chronicles how the complex project came to be amid intensive political maneuvering between NASA and Capitol Hill, and the dreams of a colorful cast of scientists and techies. (Nonfiction)

  4. “Grounded and Cured: One Marine Fighter Pilot's Inspirational Story of Miraculous Healing from a Rare Bone Cancer through Alternative Medicine and His Unprecedented Return to Flight Status” by David Trombly (Wellness Marketing Corporation). A Marine with a budding career as an F/A-18 fighter pilot, Lt. Col. Trombly received the news that he had a rare terminal cancer, a primary lymphoma of the bone, from which there had never been a military survivor. With this knowledge, he and his wife, Megan, embarked upon the difficult research of alternative treatments in a battle not only for David's life but also his military career. (Nonfiction)

  5. “Learning to Pray: A Guide for Everyone’’ by James Martin (HarperOne). The Jesuit priest and consultant to the Vatican's Dicastery for Communication explains what prayer is, what to expect from praying, how to do it, and how it can transform lives when made a regular practice. Martin also discusses the different styles and traditions of prayer throughout Christian history and how to figure out which works best to feed the soul and build intimacy with God.
