The Newsmax Rising Bestsellers list will do more than stimulate your mind. These reads may challenge your beliefs, broaden your perspectives, excite your curiosities, or widen your imagination.

These books may not necessarily appear on the official New York Times list of bestsellers, but they're the ones our Newsmax audience is reading, talking about, sharing with friends, and buying.

Here are the Newsmax Rising Bestsellers for the week of Aug. 31, 2020:

  1. "The Three Cs That Made America Great: Christianity, Capitalism and the Constitution" by Mike Huckabee and Steve Feazel (Trilogy Christian Publishing). The two-time presidential candidate and former Arkansas governor argues that the left seeks to fundamentally change our nation by disregarding the principles upon which it was founded. He calls on Christians and conservatives to answer the call to action and push back against the forces that desire to move America from its heritage and founding principles. (Nonfiction)
  2. "His Truth Is Marching On: John Lewis and the Power of Hope" by Jon Meacham (Random House). The Pulitzer-winning biographer of "Destiny and Power: The American Odyssey of George Herbert Walker Bush'' chronicles the life and times of civil rights icon and longtime U.S. Congressman John Lewis, who died on July 17 after a lifelong quest for racial justice in America. Meacham describes how Lewis, the great-grandson of a slave and son of an Alabama tenant farmer was inspired by the Bible and his teachers in nonviolence, Reverend James Lawson and Martin Luther King Jr. From an early age, he decided that nonviolence was not only a tactic but a philosophy, a biblical imperative, and a transforming reality. (Nonfiction)
  3. "Hitler: Downfall: 1939-1945" by Volker Ullrich (Knopf). The veteran journalist and historian offers new insight into Hitler's character and personality, portraying the insecurity, obsession with minutiae, and narcissistic penchant for gambling that led the Third Reich leader to overrule his subordinates and then blame them for his failures. And, ultimately, when he realized the war was not winnable, he embarked on the annihilation of Germany itself in order to punish the people who he believed had failed to hand him victory. (Nonfiction)
  4. "Never Alone: Prison, Politics, and My People" by Natan Sharansky and Gil Troy (PublicAffairs). In 1977, Natan Sharansky, a leading activist in the democratic dissident movement in the Soviet Union and the movement for free Jewish emigration, was arrested by the KGB. He spent nine years as a political prisoner, convicted of treason against the state. His years in prison, many spent in harsh solitary confinement, prepared him for a very public life after his release as an Israeli politician and head of the Jewish Agency. (Nonfiction)
  5. "How to Lead: Wisdom from the World's Greatest CEOs, Founders, and Game Changers" by David M. Rubenstein (Simon & Schuster). Rubenstein, author of "The American Story" and cofounder of The Carlyle Group, interviews the world’s highest performing leaders to find out the principles and guiding philosophies that led them to success. Among them: George W. Bush, Warren Buffet, Jack Nicklaus, Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Phil Knight, Ken Griffin, Christine Lagarde and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. (Nonfiction)
