Democrats Damaged American Prosperity With Mueller Probe

This should be a moment of unity considering that a big cloud over our nation has been lifted. Instead, Democrats have attempted to flip the script by insisting that Mueller maybe missed something. Maybe the investigation wasn’t thorough enough. Because in their mind, there is no way that President Trump could have truly won.

To be clear, these arguments coming from the left simply do not have merit. Mueller had ample access to resources, spent over $25 million taxpayer dollars, issued 2,800 subpoenas, contacted over 500 witnesses, and reviewed millions of documents and through all of that, and still did not find any evidence of wrongdoing by President Trump.

After having the left spend two years fixated on this bogus investigation while taking the American people along for the ride, it is time to assess the collateral damage and how we got here.

All of this began with the Steele Dossier, an unverified dossier paid for by the Clinton campaign that alleged the Trump Campaign was colluding with Russia. The FBI then used this apocryphal document to obtain a FISA warrant which allowed them to surveil the Trump campaign.

This is a clear breach of protocol; not only was the dossier unverified and paid for by Clinton, but it was compiled by Christopher Steele, who the FBI did not consider a reliable asset.

Even when it became clear that there was no evidence of collusion, former Obama administration FBI and DOJ officials resorted to corrupt methods. Former FBI director James Comey began leaking conversations with President Trump to his allies in the media in the hopes of sparking causation for a special counsel — which is what he achieved.

So, why was Comey never held accountable for leaking classified information? What about John Brennan who lied under oath to Congress when testifying? And James Clapper who admitted that he lied to Congress about NSA surveillance without facing consequences? These D.C. insiders should face the same Justice system that anyone else who committed a crime should face.

Beyond the crooked roots of this investigation, we have a president who came out of all of this with a 50 percent approval rating according to Rasmussen. Imagine how much President Trump would have been able to do his first two years if not for the Clinton cronies and their divisive Russia-gate tactics?

President Trump has been like Atlas for the last two years, carrying the weight of Congressional Democrats on his shoulders as they were too busy with their collusion conspiracies to actually get anything done. Democrats worked to undermine the president by propagating baseless claims of collusion and obstruction. In spite of this undermining from Democrats, President Trump has a strong track record to boast.

We have the lowest black and Hispanic unemployment numbers in history, record manufacturing growth, wage growth, and have peeled back federal red tape allowing small business to flourish. However, it would be foolish to think that this internal warfare didn’t hamstring Trump’s efforts in important negotiations at home and abroad with trade, denuclearization, tariffs, NAFTA, and so on.

Establishment Democrats and upper echelon lawmakers practically promised President Trump’s impeachment. Even absent of evidence, they never considered President Trump innocent. This rhetoric was enough to create a vitriolic atmosphere that made our foreign counterparts cautious of working with the United States.

This caution is a byproduct of the witch hunt against President Trump and his associates. Rooted in the mainstream media and origins of the investigation, this bias and subsequent distrust in America’s president hurt our country’s productivity and the president’s ability to complete negotiations on the world stage. The total and complete exoneration of the president by the Mueller report discredits associated fears created by Obama era FBI and DOJ officials and echoed by the media.

Though our economy is booming, we need to ensure that those responsible for this fishing expedition are held accountable not only for perpetuating baseless claims against President Trump, but also inhibiting American growth and prosperity as a result. Americans should not be forced to suffer at the hands of politically motivated Democrats acting on their own inclinations.
