Obamacare Leads to Single-Payer System

The military teaches battlefield commanders to analyze and assess the enemy’s actions in order to gain understanding of the larger objectives. The more adaptive strategist can always beat the adversary to the decisive moment in an engagement. That’s why Sun Tzu’s "The Art of War" was mandatory reading when I was a young Second Lieutenant.
As I observe the battleground of political strategy, I see a very capable liberal-progressive-socialist campaign plan rooted in acute incrementalism, precision execution, and enabled by media propaganda. The left has indeed mastered the game of political chess.
On the other hand, Republicans find themselves playing a reactive, impulsive, tactical game of checkers which is devoid of strategic vision or an understanding of their opponents.
Which brings me to Obamacare, the Un-Affordable Care Act that hardly protects patients. First of all, if Republicans were smart they would replace the president’s name and use the name of every Democrat that voted for this misguided piece of legislation throughout this midterm election year.
In Louisiana it should be called Landrieucare; in North Carolina, Hagancare; in Arkansas, Pryorcare; in New Hampshire, Shaheencare; and so forth all across the nation. Votes truly have consequences and it's imperative to make those consequences personal.
We must also accept that Obamacare is not some gross miscalculation. It is doing exactly what progressive socialists have forever sought in their steady march to fundamentally transform America.
This past week the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) stated that Obamacare will result in the loss of some 2.5 million full-time equivalent jobs. The explanation from Obama administration Economic Council Chairman Jason Furman and White House Spokesperson Jay Carney provides a clear window into the desired end — keeping more Americans dependent on the government.
Carney referred to Americans being “trapped by a job" and Furman tried to say it’s actually preferable for Americans to work less, if at all, in order to have time with family and receive government subsidies.
Regardless of what President Obama believes, the welfare nanny state — the dependency society — is expanding under his watch, just as Columbia University Professors Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven hoped would be the case in the 1960s. The Cloward-Piven strategy called for expanding the welfare benefit state to a point of collapse resulting in government-guaranteed income as a means to end poverty.
Listening to Furman and Carney, it’s evident the “government subsidy" to which they refer is basically a guaranteed income. Perhaps this is also how the Obama administration is using “emergency" unemployment benefit extensions, — 11 so far — as a means to create a guaranteed government income.
And you know, once a dependency is created, it’s doggone hard to break that addiction.
Separately, Obamacare creates massive confusion for the health insurance market — just desserts for making a deal with the proverbial devil. We continue to hear numbers for how many have “signed up" for Obamacare, but that doesn’t equate to individuals who’ve actually paid. As a matter of fact, we continue to hear about the “backdoor" to the healthcare.gov website not being complete, and health insurance companies are not getting paid.
March is quickly approaching and it sure doesn’t seem the magical number of 7 million enrollees will be met. And I mean paid enrollees, certainly not the young folks required to subsidize (that word again) older and sicker individuals.
So what are the health insurance companies to do? Those previously declared "junk plans" that were non-compliant may be reinstated for three years, then what? Funny how that coincides with another presidential election.
United Healthcare has already backed out of Obamacare and this past week the CEO of Aetna admitted his company is pondering the same. In March when the failure becomes obvious, what shall become of the insurance companies that are part of Obamacare and losing money?
There is this little caveat in Obamacare called the “insurance corridor" which is basically a taxpayer-funded bailout of the insurance industry (hence why they went along with this scheme in the first place). But does anyone really believe with $17.3 trillion in debt Americans will support a bailout?
Here is the masterful strategy of the progressives.
Saying no to a health insurance industry bailout means a collapse of that industry and you can just imagine the effect it would have on Americans who will lose their coverage. No doubt the stock market will shudder as investments in that industry evaporate. Jobs will be lost and exacerbate an already calamitous unemployment situation in America. It would be chaotic.
But that, ladies and gentlemen, leads to the perfect setup for a government single-payer system to swoop in and rescue the nation — Medicaid for everyone! Checkmate!
It is imperative for health insurance companies to back away from Obamacare and work with House Conservatives on the free market solutions of the American Healthcare Reform Act.
Obamacare is the second biggest fraud enacted against the American people. The first is the namesake of this travesty.
