Texas Sen. Ted Cruz says there's one thing wrong with posters that have popped up around Los Angeles showing his head on a bare-chested body with ripped muscles, heavy tattoos, and dangling a cigarette from his mouth like a latter-day James Dean.
"Saw this, but noticed an error. So I wanted to make one thing clear: I don't smoke cigarettes," the Republican tweeted Saturday morning from
his verified Twitter account.
This week, the posters were plastered around town, declaring the freshman Republican senator is in town to speak at the Beverly Hilton for the "So-Cal 'Blacklisted and Loving It Tour'."
Cruz is in Los Angeles, where he's scheduled to take the stage on Saturday night to speak at the Claremont Institute's annual Winston Churchill Dinner, where he's to receive the institute’s Statesmanship Award.
And, if you look closely at the tattoo on the fake Cruz's right arm, it appears to be ink of Churchill himself.
Fans who hope to see Cruz at the Beverly Hilton will be disappointed, though, because the sold-out dinner is being held
at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
Meanwhile, the posters showing the dangerous-looking 'Cruz' have popped up in front of several key Los Angeles night spots, including the Viper Room, the Seventh Veil, and Whiskey-a-Go-Go,
reports Breitbart. The posters have also been put on car windshields and utility poles around the city.
