The Rev. Franklin Graham Tuesday announced three more dates for his "Decision America Tour" of 50 state capitals next year holding prayer rallies to encourage Christians to vote in presidential and local elections.
Quoting from a sermon given nearly four decades ago by his famous father, the Rev. Billy Graham,
Franklin Graham said on
Facebook: "My father then urged Christians to get involved in the political process, and to help shape the kind of country we'd all want for our children and grandchildren."
Franklin Graham, 63, heads both the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and the Samaritan's Purse global charity. Billy Graham turns 97 on Saturday.
The younger Graham said that the tour will stop in three state capitals in February: Columbia, S.C., on Feb. 9; Atlanta, on Feb. 10; and Honolulu, on Feb. 24.
"I'm going to challenge Christians to get off the sidelines and take a stand for God's truth and righteousness, Graham said. "I will call on the church to do what God says in His Word."
He ended the post by quoting 2 Chronicles 7:14 from the Old Testament:
"If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
