Terrence Evans Dies: Actor Who Stood Tall in Movies, TV Was 81

Terrence Evans, the TV and movie actor seen in "Terminator 2" and Clint Eastwood’s "Pale Rider," died Friday at the age of 81.

"Terrence was a consummate actor who was passionate about his art and about giving to others. He projected his strength and humanity into his character portrayals," said his longtime manager Phil Brock of Studio Talent Group in a statement to Variety

At 6-foot-6-inches, Evans was a big on-screen presence, making for memorable performances in two of the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" films, where he played Leatherface’s uncle, Monty. According to Deadline.com, he also played three characters over the course of "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" and "Voyager," including the Ambassador Treen character.

He also appeared on "Little House on the Prairie," "The Dukes of Hazzard," "The Golden Girls," "ER," "The A-Team," "Fresh Prince of Bel Air," "Las Vegas," and "Cold Case."

In addition to his screen work, Evans was active in Los Angeles theater at Theatricum Botanicum and Theatre Palisades. He appeared in productions including "The Seagull," "Bus Stop," "The Crucible," "South Pacific," "Three Penny Opera," and "The Madwoman of Chaillot."

Studio Talent Group said in a release that Evans was a graduate of Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Mellon University, and a longtime member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA.

In addition to his wife, Heidi, he is survived by two children, two stepchildren, and one grandson.
