"Duck Dynasty" Star Phil Robertson asked Congress to vote to confirm Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch in a new digital ad released by American Legacy Center.

The confirmation hearings for Gorsuch started on Capitol Hill on Monday, and Republicans need 60 votes to confirm President Donald Trump’s nominee. In the ad, Robertson says that Gorsuch will support life and will protect the First and Second Amendments.

“He knows his job is to uphold the Constitution, not change it,” Robertson says in the ad.

Although Gorsuch does not have an extensive record of abortion rulings, he is generally seen as a pro-life conservative by most Republicans.

Gorsuch would take the place of late Justice Antonin Scalia on the court; Scalia died almost a year ago. Gorsuch was unanimously confirmed by the Senate in 2006 when President George W. Bush appointed him to Denver’s 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

“Do not let us down at this critical time in our history,” Robertson continues. “We’re trying to save the country.” Robertson is the chairman of ALC’s “Fight for the Court” initiative. The ALC website also encouraged citizens to call their U.S. Senators to ask them to vote to confirm Gorsuch.

Twitter was rather quiet about Robertson’s endorsement, but had a lot to say about Gorsuch’s nomination.
