After much speculation, the New England Patriots officially signed Tim Tebow Tuesday, igniting a firestorm of responses on Twitter.
Tebow, a former Heisman winner, was
released from the New York Jets in April after failing to unseat starting quarterback Mark Sanchez. Now, he will join coach Bill Belichick's Patriots, where quarterback Tom Brady reigns.
Last month, Yahoo! Sports cited an "organizational source" as saying Belichick disliked Tebow as a player and there was "no chance" of him landing in New England. Belichick dismissed that notion last week, telling ESPNBoston.com that the report was completely untrue.

"Tim is a talented player, is smart, and works hard. We'll see how it goes," Belichick said during a press conference Tuesday.
It's not yet clear what role Tebow will play on the team, but he was
reportedly signed to be a quarterback on the Patriots' roster, sources told ESPN.
Many spoke out on Twitter praising the Patriots for signing Tebow.
But others poked fun at Tebow with a Photoshopped image from "The Waterboy," insinuating that Tebow will be nothing but Brady's minion.
