Nick Gordon is reportedly "devastated" that his girlfriend and rumored wife Bobbi Kristina Brown has died after being unresponsive for the last six months.
"Nick is very upset," an unnamed source told People
magazine. "You can say what you want about him and Bobbi Kristina, but he really did love her very much, and is devastated that she is gone."
But still, the details surrounding Whitney Houston’s daughter’s coma and death remain unclear with Gordon the center of rumors and suspicion.
When the 22-year-old was first found facedown and unconscious in a bathtub at her Roswell, Georgia, home on January 31, police said that Gordon had saved his girlfriend’s life by performing CPR.
By March, however, Bobbi Kristina’s aunt Leolah Brown said Gordon was “under investigation for the attempted murder of my niece,” the New York Daily News reported
The family then filed a $10 million lawsuit that accuses Gordon of abusing and stealing money from Bobbi Kristina. Later in March, Gordon stayed at a rehab and then moved to his family’s Florida house.
Gordon allegedly took more than $11,000 from his beau’s bank account while she was unconscious.
"He feels — and we all feel — like Nick has been a scapegoat in this case," one of Gordon’s relatives told People. “It's a stressful time for him . . . He's not doing too well, but he's being as strong as he can."
Bobby Brown, Bobbi Kristina’s father, banned the 25-year-old from visiting her in the hospital, prompting Gordon to make several Twitter pleas asking to see his girlfriend.
"The last time he visited her, he didn't know it would be the last time," a relative said.
Whitney Houston took Gordon in as her adoptive son, and he and Bobbi Kristina began dating in 2012. Although they told people they were husband and wife, they never actually married.
"He is heartbroken and grieving,” the unidentified source told People. “Nick was holding out hope that he would see her one final time. He is very emotional."
“Nick is on suicide watch. He is out of control with regret and sadness. He keeps saying that if only [Bobbi Kristina] had heard his voice, things would have been different. She may have lived,” an unnamed source told Hollywood Life
